Seasonal Calendar for Angling Opportunities
| Month | Lake Minnewanka | Bow River | Ice Fishing |
| APRIL | CLOSED | Very good nymphing. Can be excellent with streamers and lures. | Still do-able. Can be HOT! Fish are on the move as the water warms. |
| MAY | Opens May 16th. Exceptional fly fishing and jigging for Lunker Lake Trout. | Same as April, with greater potential for Dries, BWO's and PMD's. | CLOSED |
| JUNE | Great jigging, casting lures and trolling, even fly-fishing with streamers and nymphs. Lunker Lakers on the fly! | Bring out the "Woolie Buggers", big Nymphs and Spinners, 'cause the water is coloring up. | CLOSED |
| JULY | Same as June with even more fish to be found shallow. Best chances on the fly are in the evening. | Here come the bugs! Deliciously Huge, Golden Stone Flies, mid-size Dark Brown Stones followed by our most impressive Green Drake May Flies. Appicable Dries and Nymphs as well as Woolies and Spinners are all on the menu. | CLOSED |
| AUGUST | Go heavy and deep. The good news is the deeper they are, the dumber. Leading up to September, pre-spawn feeding brings on some great fishing! Most of the big fish are caught in August. | Green Drakes still, but more variety with Caddis, smaller Stones and May Flies. Smorgabord of applicable Dries, Nymphs, Emergers and Streamers as well as Spinners, Spoons and even Crank Baits will fill the bill. | CLOSED |
| SEPTEMBER | Banner Fishing! But alas, the lake closes to fishing on the Tuesday after Labour Day. | A continuing smorg of assorted May Flies, Blue Duns, BWO's and PMD's with some notable Travelling Sedge Caddis also. Continuing wide array applicable from Dries to Crank Baits. | CLOSED |
| OCTOBER | CLOSED | Some excellent Streamer, Nymph and Lure fishing. Pre-spawn feeding time! Dries intermittent unfortunately. | CLOSED |
| NOVEMBER | CLOSED | Give it a rest - they're spawning. | CLOSED |
| DECEMBER TO MARCH | CLOSED | Exceptional Nymph, Streamer and lure fishing. Low water, concentrated populations and zero pressure. Frequent warm weather opportunities arise during our Chinooks. | It's on! Heated huts and easy fishing with a jig. |
